The Influenece of Hemolysis at the Creatinine Rate Assay Method

Abstract
Most methods for the determination of creatinine are based on the Jaffe¢¥s reaction. The traditional Jaffe¢¥s reaction was measuring the O.D. of end-point reaction. But, the rate assay of Jaffe¢¥s reaction is measuring the d O.D. of prompt reaction from 20 to 80 seconds. The J O.D. is propertional to the creatinine concentrations. We have tested by the method of rate assay.
When creatinine value was measured by the method of rate assay, the values were decreased at the hemolyzed serums than nonhemolyzed in our eaperienses. The studies were performed the 14 pairs of normal value of specimens and the pairs of creatinine elevated specimens by Abbott autoanalyzer.
The results obtained were as follows:
Normal creatinine concentration of hemolyzed specimen groups were decreased the concentration of creatinine than nonhemolvzed, 0.284mg/dl, 0.206mg/dl and 0.078mg/dl when used "W", "B" and "I" reagents.
The creatinine elevated specimen groups were decreased than nonhemolyzed groups, 0.383mg/ dl, 0.299mg/dl and 0.454mg/dl when used "W", "B and "I" reagents.
When creatinine determination of rate assay- method is adopted, it is avoided the hemolyzed serum.
